    What the review is for

What Your Free Pest Control Business Valuation Covers

Revenue alone does not tell you what your company is worth.

Understand the Earnings and the Business

The initial review helps identify the earnings basis, the operating facts that need clarification and the preparation priorities relevant to your plans. If the records do not support a useful value discussion yet, identifying what is missing is part of the work.

    Decide Your Next Step

We discuss the next step with you: prepare further, examine an existing buyer approach or explore a sale. Any indication of value depends on the information and assumptions available. It is not a guaranteed offer, a formal appraisal or a promise of proceeds at closing.

    A consistent earnings basis

SDE and EBITDA: Choosing the Right Earnings Basis

    Owner-operated company

    Seller’s Discretionary Earnings

Seller’s discretionary earnings (SDE) considers the earnings available to an owner-operator, including appropriate owner compensation and supported adjustments. It is not the same as profit after paying a replacement management team.

The owner’s actual duties matter. Sales, dispatch, licensed fieldwork and administration may each need coverage after a sale.

    Management-led company

    Earnings With Management in Place

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) provides a different starting point. Normalization should reflect the cost of maintaining the business, including any necessary replacement for work the departing owner performs.

A multiple applied to SDE cannot simply be applied to EBITDA. Compare the same earnings definition, period and transaction scope.

    The business behind the earnings

What Affects a Pest Control Business Valuation

    01

    Customer Revenue

Distinguish recurring plans, termite renewals, commercial agreements and one-time jobs. Review cancellations and service commitments, not simply the number of accounts.

    02

    Route Economics

Connect service frequency and pricing to drive time, technician capacity and the cost of delivering the work. Dense routes are useful only when the underlying economics support them.

    03

    Staff and Licenses

Identify who performs and supervises the work, who holds required qualifications and what the transaction would require for continuity. Review the relevant licenses rather than assuming transfer.

    04

    Owner Dependence

Describe your daily work and the people or systems that can take it over. A sustainable earnings view must account for responsibilities that cannot disappear at closing.

Information to Prepare for Your Valuation

You can inquire before every figure is final.

Use the form to describe your company and the question you want to resolve. Estimates can provide context if clearly labeled. Where you do not know a figure, say so rather than presenting it as verified.

For a deeper review, we may identify financial statements and tax records, support for earnings adjustments, revenue by service line, customer retention information and an outline of staffing and owner responsibilities.

Do not include customer names, employee personal information or account-level records in this initial inquiry. Discuss the appropriate way to provide detailed information as the review progresses.

    Questions before you begin

    Pest Control Business Valuation Questions

Will I receive an instant valuation or a written appraisal?

No instant result is produced by this form. The initial review frames your company’s position and the information needed for a useful discussion. A formal appraisal, written valuation report or specific delivery date is not promised here; any further deliverable must be agreed in the engagement scope.

Can I use a revenue multiple to value my pest control business?

A revenue multiple alone ignores the cost of serving customers, management needs and ongoing obligations. It can also mix different transaction types and earnings profiles. A company-specific review starts with supportable earnings and relevant operating context rather than treating one revenue factor as a price.

Is the business value the same as the cash I receive?

No. Debt, cash, working-capital adjustments, transaction costs and the agreed deal structure can change the amount received. Seller financing, earnouts and retained equity are not the same as immediate cash. Tax consequences require advice based on your circumstances.
